Holding Mothers Nonprofit

Holding Mothers was founded to address a critical gap in maternal healthcare throughout the Upstate South Carolina area. Our mission is to bridge the divide for families who may face unique challenges and barriers in accessing the care and support they need. We understand that every family's journey to parenthood is different, and many encounter obstacles—whether financial, geographical, or systemic—that prevent them from receiving the comprehensive support they deserve.

By connecting expectant families with essential resources and a compassionate support system, we aim to empower mothers and families through every stage of pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. Holding Mothers is committed to providing accessible and inclusive care, ensuring that no family has to navigate these crucial moments alone. Whether through doula services, educational programs, or advocacy efforts, our goal is to foster a stronger, healthier community for all.

Community Baby Shower

Throughout the year, we plan to host several events to raise awareness for our cause, connect with our community, and raise vital funds to support our mission. These events offer meaningful ways for people to get involved and make a difference.

One of our signature events is the annual Community Baby Shower, which provides a joyful baby shower experience for families who might not otherwise have the opportunity. We offer a wide range of essential items for both mom and baby—completely free of charge—ensuring that every family feels supported and celebrated during this special time.

Donate

We rely on the generosity of donations to make a meaningful impact on the families we serve. Your monetary contributions directly help families, ensuring they receive the support they deserve. In addition to financial donations, we also welcome maternity and baby items, which are provided at no cost to families in need.

Volunteer

If acts of service are your love language, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved! We're always looking for passionate volunteers to help with our events, support groups, and classes. Your time and energy can make a real difference in the lives of families in our community.

Share Our Mission

Community Baby Shower

This is an annual event that aims to celebrate local moms who would normally not get a baby shower. This can happen for so many reasons, financial constraint, living far from family, being new to an area, etc. We collect new and gently used baby, maternity, and postpartum supplies from the community and distribute them free of charge to participants. We also have a meal, play classic baby shower games, connect with resources and have an amazing time with one another.

Our next Baby Shower will be on November 15th, 2025!
